He was on the Wichita State basketball team in the early 70's and then a school teacher here in Wichita (Northwest High). That sure looks like him to me, and he looks tall enough.

Hmmm, it appears some people cared about WSU football
I am assuming this was the Oklahoma State game (that the Shocks won). Unfortunately, this wasn't exactly the norm when it came to fan support for Shocker football.

In any case, thanks for sharing. Great pics!
It might have been that game. It was played in 1978 and it was a night game and we won 20-10. It also could have been the Kstate game from 1977 which we blew, but it was also at night.
There were a few other night games that I recall where we had a nearly full stadium, Tulsa comes to mind.
There were also a few day games where the stadium was almost completely full, Tulsa (1982 I think), Memphis State in the late 1970s, are a couple that I can think of on the top of my head.

Thanks and you're welcome. Your assumption is correct on this group of photo's.

Ran across this old photo from 1973... not sure who the guy is wearing the WSU shirt? Could be a former football player... love the sideburns. Nice vette!
